Your new role


In this exciting new role you will deliver and lead the end-to-end management of requirements for high profile rolling stock projects globally. 


Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:


Manage the IBM DOORS database including development of DXL script and Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) templates.


Assist in managing and maintaining an effective Requirement Management Process, and continually improve from lessons learnt.


Lead the development of the technical requirements at all project stages including bid and certification.


Identify the correct scope of input requirements including contractual and legislative requirements.


Lead the collaboration with relevant functions to allocate validation and verification activities to requirements.


Support process alignment across global Hitachi sites, liaising with key stakeholders including customers, internal and external suppliers and certification bodies.


Assist in developing and reviewing the Requirements Management Plans.


Support the train design assurance and approval process.


Identify risks at all stages of the project, leading the development and execution of plans to resolve these risks.


Attend internal and external design review meetings, providing assistance to the design team.


Present regular status updates to the wider project teams and functions.


About you


This role will suit someone with a background in compliance, design assurance, project engineering or approvals. Specifically, you will need to show the following traits and attributes:


Proven experience in Requirement Management tools, including IBM DOORS and Rational Publishing Engine (RPE).


Experience in IBM DOORS database development, including DXL script development highly beneficial.


Proven experience in Systems Engineering, including the delivery of design, development, testing of engineering solutions. A track record of applying technical knowledge to support other internal functions.


Excellent communication and negotiation skills with experience of dealing with customer, supplier and stakeholder bodies.


Knowledge and experience of standards and regulations (TSIs/Rail Group Standards/Common Safety Methods) within the railway business.


Ability to understand and interpret these standards to derive requirements.


Excellent report writing and communication skills.


Be prepared to travel to support all projects (including international travel).


Qualifications

Degree level in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
