We are currently recruiting for a SAP Engineer to join our team. This is a permanent role based at our North Pole train maintenance centre.
In this exciting role you will ensure the delivery of overhaul through the SAP system is managed effectively & efficiently. Supporting Operations & the SAP central team to input and manage maintenance plans in the system, monitor work orders, & ensure asset configuration is maintained
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
Work with engineering & the strategic planning manager to confirm the forecast overhaul demands for each fleet
Ensure that maintenance plans are uploaded into SAP on an individual component basis allowing full visibility of ongoing demand
Work with the central planning cell to ensure this demand is properly understood & TMC impacts accounted for
Management of the maintenance plans throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they are kept up to date and updated or closed correctly
On completion of any maintenance work, ensure Certificates of Conformance are loaded against key assets and records are kept up to date
Optimise existing maintenance plan & work order management processes to ensure effective delivery
Manage and track all maintenance plans to ensure no planned maintenance goes past its due by date or mileage
Oversee TMC removal & refit and information provided from overhaul providers to ensure that asset configuration is maintained appropriately
Integrate into the repair cycle to ensure any additional work required & unexpected component change-out is managed effectively
Work with central SAP teams to ensure configuration integrity is in place for all fleets prior to overhaul commencement
Generate & monitor SAP driven KPIs and reporting, escalating issues to senior management as required
Complete root cause analysis of any system issues or recurring user error, driving improvements as required
Provide SAP advice into other optimisation projects as identified by the business
Proactively identify SAP improvement opportunities & work cross-functionally across the business to support the delivery of these projects in a timely & cost-effective manner
Must have an excellent knowledge & understanding of Asset Maintenance techniques preferably within the rail industry.
Must have a detailed knowledge of SAP and experience in using the Asset Management functions listed below:
Creating & Scheduling Maintenance plans in SAP PM – Including multiple counter plans.
Condition based maintenance using Measurement points & Measurement documents.
Experience in using Legacy System Migration Workbench (LSMW) load files.
Written and verbal communication skills to a very high standard.
Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times.
Position holder must be able to liaise effectively with all levels of personnel both within and outside the company.
