Job description
Hitachi Rail Honolulu JV (HRH) is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Traction Power Substation Lead Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City/Honolulu, HI.

Accountabilities:
Lead the traction power systems maintenance team performing maintenance and troubleshooting of technical faults, including high voltage equipment, switches and circuit breakers, SCADA systems in use in a railway environment
Safety of staff and equipment performing maintenance and lockout procedures
Compliance with electrical standards, specifications, practices and regulatory requirements
Investigation of major electrical faults
Role requires flexibility and efficiently which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems
Perform additional job duties as assigned
Required Education/Skills:

Associate Degree in Electrical engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge of AC/DC power systems, including third rail metro
Knowledge of cable trays and duct banks management systems

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:
3 years' experience in the maintenance/repair of complex high voltage power distribution equipment
Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical plans, schematics, maintenance manuals and instructions
