Job description
Hitachi Rail Honolulu JV (HRH) is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Track Supervisor to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City/Honolulu, HI.

Who We Are:

HRH is a Hawaii-based Joint Venture, which was awarded the Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) contract for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project (Project), the first Driverless Rail Transit System in the USA. HRH has assembled a team of experienced professionals in order to deliver a world-class rail transit system capable of delivering highly comfortable, reliable, safe and cost-effective transportation.

Accountabilities:
  • Ensuring staff conduct mandatory track inspection
  • Lead the track maintenance including the renewing and repairs of worn or damaged track, switches and frogs ultrasonic testing and track grinding
  • Oversee the operations of OTE equipment including rail grinding machinery, track tamping, electric arc welding, rail welding, grinding and ultrasonic track inspection equipment
  • Implementing maintenance procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with the requirements
  • Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of track and related infrastructure, equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerised maintenance management system
  • Ensure the maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required
  • Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty
  • Role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned
    Required Education/Skills:
  • Vocational trade certificate in engineering or related field
  • Knowledge in track maintenance including, switches and crossing, track support technology, track bed construction, track welding and grinding, track geometry and gauging

Desired Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Minimum 3 years work experience as a track inspector/repairer in the maintenance of railway tracks
  • Experience in rail renewals and installation work, safety inspections, track welding work and track maintenance vehicle operations on the mainline and depot tracks
