Job description
Hitachi Rail Honolulu JV (HRH) is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Comms and Scada Technician to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City/Honolulu, HI.

Who We Are:
HRH is a Hawaii-based Joint Venture, which was awarded the Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) contract for the Honolulu Rail Transit Project (Project), the first Driverless Rail Transit System in the USA. HRH has assembled a team of experienced professionals in order to deliver a world-class rail transit system capable of delivering highly comfortable, reliable, safe and cost-effective transportation.

Accountabilities:
Communication system equipment (fiber optic network, public information, access control, phone and emergency phone system equipment) in operation to detect potential failures and locates causes of malfunction
Observes SCADA system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locates causes of malfunction.
Responds to SCADA malfunctions completing repairs as assigned
Responds to communication malfunctions completing repairs as assigned
Uses electronic test equipment and other specialized tools as required
Completes assigned operational, equipment failure, safety and other reports as required
Participates in training programs as required
Performs related duties as required
Able to work under pressure during intense periods of activities
Willing to work flexibly and efficiently in support of the project which may include working shift rotation, nights, weekends and holidays

Required Education:
A valid qualification in Electronics or Communications systems
Working knowledge of fiber optics, computers, digital communications processors, servers, programming, applications, software, and hardware related to radio communications
Experience in the use/interpretation of schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Book of Rules, etc. and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of communications systems
Desired Skills/ Knowledge:
Minimum 3 years' experience in maintaining and troubleshooting communications and SCADA systems and equipment
