Your new role

 

Hitachi Rail are looking for a Train Presentation Manager, to join our Train Maintenance Centre in Ashford on a permanent basis. This role is role is responsible for the management and leadership of the cleaning contract, ensuring contractual compliance and delivery of all standards relating to train presentation.

 

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Ensure governance, contract management, compliance and adherence to standards with regards to all train presentation activities.

  • Responsible for contract performance, ensuring consistent achievement of financial targets and, where they fall short, take appropriate remedial action to drive improvement.

  • Lead the development and implementation of train presentation strategy.

  • Ensure the capture, management and recording of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to train presentation, cleaning standards and audits in accordance with the contractual obligations.

  • Support negotiations with sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure contracts are as competitive as possible.

  • Manage sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance to contract.

  • Liaise with all internal functions and stakeholders to ensure the integration and implementation of train presentation activities.

  • Lead effective and efficient delivery of train presentation activities.

  • Identify, evaluate and understand capability gaps with train presentation delivery and achievement of standards.

  • Provide leadership and develop continuous improvement initiatives in order to drive the optimisation of train presentation delivery and challenge operations to ensure cost effectiveness.

  • Manage operator responsible damage through the Damage & Vandalism (D&V) process; ensuring timely capture and recovery of costs.

  • Manage all external/internal cosmetic repairs

  • Support contractual performance reviews with train presentation performance data and evidence.

  • Carry out cleaning audits as required, to monitor train presentation standards through a robust audit plan.

  • Develop relationships with key external stakeholders to ensure train presentation expectations are met.

  • Identify, manage and resolve risks and issues and initiate appropriate corrective action.

  • Report progress, prepare reports and give verbal briefs and presentations as required.

  • Promote, support and comply with all health and safety practices in the workplace.

  • Undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as required.

  • In line with the company sustainability policy ensure effective and economical use of equipment and materials.

  • To actively support company equality, diversity and inclusion policies.

  • Any other duties as directed by the TMC Manager (Ashford)

 

About you

 
Essential
  • Experience of delivering cleaning standards to an efficient, high quality within a transport environment.

  • Strong customer focus.
  • Sound contractual and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent planning and problem solving skills.

  • Outstanding Safety Awareness

  • Intermediate IT skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

  • Educated to A level (English, Maths) or equivalent
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS)
