Summary:

This position acts as Vehicle Energy America, Inc’s (VE-AMs) prime contact to its automotive OEM customers as far as delivery is concerned.  Further, this position is key for VE-AM’s competitive operations from order and forecast receipt to delivery to the customers aiming for healthy inventory on hand. It also requires efficient transportation of products imported from its parent plants in Japan while meeting customer expectations. Thus, this position needs to closely work with its counterparts in Japan as well as its team members in the US.

Essential Functions:

  • Produce and maintain Master Production Schedule in accordance with customer requirements
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy, customer service and manufacturing order maintenance
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements, while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges
  • Produce Material Requirement Planning (MRP) by incorporating customer’s demand retrieved from in-bound EDI and incoming inventory data to achieve desired inventory on hand
  • Primary contact person to the customers for product delivery and quality concerns
  • Focus on maintaining or exceeding customer satisfaction
  • Ensure all regulations are met for Import and Export operations
  • Must be capable of anticipating potential issues due to market variations, logistic situations, and resources management to minimize financial impact
  • Monitor compliance with OHSA standards in the area of fork-lift safety and daily operations
  • Manage transportation cost on daily basis to meet directed sales ratio level
  • Order and maintain specific customer packaging types and levels.
  • Perform all work with a laser focus on cost optimization, continuous improvement, and meet budget commitments

Qualifications

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • Education : Four year college degree preferred
  • 5 years production planning in a manufacturing environment, automotive preferred.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all departments of the organization and with external suppliers and customers.
  • Aptitude for preparation of monthly management reports based on company KPI
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal / written communication and presentation skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications – Excel, Word, Powerpoin
  • Skilled in performing work autonomously with little day to day direction
  • Commitment to safety, quality and environmental management systems meeting or exceeding OSHA, TS16949 and ISO14001 requirements
