In this exciting role you will be responsible on a shift basis for the management of Hitachi control room operations and TRI teams located on the network. Also you will be responsible for monitoring and updating the Hitachi maintenance plan in line with the operational day.
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
Undertake the role of “Maintainer Control Room Contact” on a shift basis as set out in the TSA Contract.
Responsible on a shift basis for the management of Hitachi control room operations and TRI teams located on the GWR network.
Management of fleet planning and all operational interfaces at the Great Western Integrated Control Centre.
Provide 24 hour operational support to Great Western Railway staff.
Line management, supervision and support of the Maintenance Controllers and Technical Riding Inspectors.
Working closely with the central planning cell – monitoring and updating the long term maintenance plan to ensure class 800 fleets are maintained, servicing and cleaned in line with contractual requirements to include:-
Utilisation of SOROS to update and monitor the maintenance plan.
Monitoring priority and keep in balance maintenance requirements.
Monitoring fleet status using remote diagnostic data and planning train to depot accordingly.
Recording of damage and vandalism as required
Adherence and management of the train performance regime.
Management and escalation of incidents that occur on the Great Western Network.
Availability of train fleet and utilisation of spare trains.
Access and maintenance of records to include control room logs, maintenance management system and remote train diagnostics.
Ensure the maintenance Controllers document and record all control room activities and processes required to support the customer passenger service.
Develop professionally and support good working relationships with all stakeholders.
Learn new skills in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as required.
Undertake competency assessment in line with the customers and Hitachi’s requirements.
Deputise for the GWICC Control Room Manager or Maintenance Controller as required.
Technical understanding of traction and rolling stock
Vocational engineering qualifications and experience
Management training qualifications or equivalent experience
Sound knowledge of, and compliance to rules and regulations
Able to represent Hitachi in a professional manner at all times
Good team worker and able to build relationship with other stakeholders
Capably of working in stressful environments for long periods of time
Intermediate IT skills – typically Word, Excel, Visio
Previous experience of using SOROS, SAP, Integrale and TRUST.
Previous experience of working in operational railway control rooms would be advantageous
