Role Overview

As part of the Social Innovation team, you will work with a pan-European multidisciplinary team of experts from both the business and tech innovation side to further our business activities in AI and other digital, cutting-edge solutions with clients in our core focus areas.


The purpose of the role is to drive new penetrations of AI & ML solutions and service offerings in EMEA in our core areas.


You will identify business opportunities and take leadership in orchestrating client discussions, identifying client value levers, building value propositions, articulating our digital first approach – and closing the deals. 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive penetrations of AI / ML and IoT offerings
  • Leverage your own networks and open-up new sales dialogues to drive new business penetrations.
  • Support ongoing sales pursuits
  • Business modelling and strategic insight to develop suitable value propositions to market
  • Ability to articulate how AI, ML and IoT can be used to drive business value creation
  • Understand key business value levers in different target segments

Business Needs Identification

  • Understand customers & Hitachi business structure and how they vary across GEOs.
  • Understand competitive pressures & unique/complimentary strategies for each of the applicable geographies to address these.
  • Identify selling opportunities by interviewing client’s functional stakeholders and coordinating need discovery activities across geographies.
  • Engage regional sales teams to evaluate customer needs and requirements for both their local market and potentially scalable global solutions.
  • Maintain and expand our relevance to customer.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable performance track record within sales and business development within digital
  • Strong ‘hunter’ skills.
  • Significant work experience in sales and business development at a professional services, software or technology company 
  • Solution selling methodology and approach.
  • Strong communicator to take the lead and structure approach
  • Market insight and understand the unique needs of global business
  • Understand the client strategy, political/competitive landscape and budget priorities
  • Maintains good rapport and demonstrates leadership and teamwork in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a direct and virtual matrixed managed environment.
  • Revenue driven and sales process competent
  • Customer focused and savvy business hunter mentality
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal, presentation, and demonstrated analytical skills
  • Excellent academic qualifications with a BSc Degree and/or MSc, preferably in Business or a Technical subject
  • Embraces a culture of trust, free thought and complete transparency
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
