Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:


  • Business accountable for assigned product group, (profit responsible)
  • “Solid line” reporting to Global Business Unit Manager, “dotted line” reporting to Sr. Vice President of Operations-KY Operations
  • H.R. relationship will be administered by the “dotted line” management within region
  • Achieve operational objectives through effective leadership of operations staff, (CFT includes; QA, PC&L, PE & Prd)
  • Responsible for meeting production goals while maintaining Hitachi quality standards, management of cost, quality, materials, and delivery.
  • Lead and support a strong safety culture,
  • Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of managers, supervisors and production team members.
  • Responsible for efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
  • Collaborates with Site Head in establishment of shift standards and working schedules for all departments connected with the product,
  • Maintains compliance with company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping (5S) standards.
  • Maintains conformance to budgetary limitations in all departments related to product
  • Prepares and maintains daily, weekly, monthly operations reports,
  • Manages all of Operations Staff Members within product group,
  • Recommends changes in production methods or material handling procedures,
  • Forecast labor requirements and recommend equipment or layout changes,


Qualified Applicants will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering field, master’s degree is preferred
  • At least ten years proven leadership experience in world class tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment,
  • Plant Management experience in tier 1 automotive is preferred
  • Transformational management style
  • Demonstrates high potential to advance to Sr. executive positions.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus,
  • Capable of excelling in a multi-cultural global business environment.
  • A good understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning and Lean activities.
  • Highly organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in 8 step problem solving,
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Knowledge of IATS 16949 / ISO 14001 requirements to support job responsibilities.
