Job description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Manufacturing Planner who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC.

• Work with cell manager to plan, release and re-schedule work orders
• Address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production
• Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, labor and equipment availability
• Recommend solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality
• Implement changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met and products are built to the latest revision
• Promptly inform the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules
• Expedite and monitor supplier deliveries
• Work with stakeholders to resolve supplier and manufacturing delivery issues (material issues, RTV's, engineering, etc....)

Required Skills/ Knowledge
• 3+ years of experience
• Risk Management
• Cost controlling and budgeting concepts / basics
• IT tools
• Experience with SAP
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
• MPS / MRP and MPR techniques
• Logistics and warehouse management
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired Skills/ Knowledge
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Advanced Excel skills
• Understanding of MRP and MPR techniques. Specifically they apply to Low Volume/High Mix production
• Experience in a project-based environment
• CPIM or other relevant accreditation or certification
• Understanding of the Rail and Transportation industry

Education / Qualifications
• Bachelor's in Business or Technical Degree or equivalent technical background

• English Proficiency
