Your new role

In this exciting new role you will work in partnership with the HR leadership and teams across the business to design implement and maintain reward frameworks that supporting the people and teams’ global compensation strategy.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Work with the Head of Reward & Benefits to design and deliver effective reward processes that are fit for purpose covering all aspects of compensation & benefits.
  • To work alongside the Head of Reward & Benefits as an advisor to the HR team and leadership, assisting in driving forward the reward agenda including pay philosophy, grading and benefits.

  • Work closely with UK HR colleagues to create a reward matrix across all locations, introducing standardisation where possible and highlighting any differences

  • To support in designing and communicating a HRL UK pay policy to HR stakeholders and HRL leadership.
  • Implementing Mercer job evaluation tools across all UK locations. Establishing an associated salary banding, grade structure and salary decision-making process. Once implemented oversee the delivery of a consistent and up to date job grading framework and pay benchmarking approach.
  • To ensure that the JD templates are consistent with the global grading process to enable ease when carrying out benchmarking exercises and determining grades. Additionally, to be responsible for creating the JD’s repository to include version control
  • To take the lead , alongside the Head of Reward & Benefits on the design and delivery of the HRL bonus scheme. Administer current scheme and put together proposals for the future evolution of the scheme in line with stakeholder feedback, business needs and market trends.
  • Working with the Head of Reward & Benefits to document the annual pay review process, to include union negotiations where applicable

  • To support in the preparation of the Remuneration Papers and proposals related to pay / benefit changes including research and benchmarking as required.
  • Maintain market data and participate in pay and benefits surveys.
  • To support the Head of Reward & Benefits to manage all benefits and schemes, taking the lead on liaising with 3rd party providers as directed, including the flexible benefits provider (JLT), pension, life assurance and income protection and organising the annual benefit election window.
  • Undertake research, design and implementation of a recognition programme for HRL including service recognition.
  • Responsible for collation, analysis and reporting to legal requirements, equal pay audits and annual Gender Pay reporting.
  • Establish and communicate a reward calendar to HR teams ensuring key activities take place effectively.
  • Support in developing strong relationships with HR leadership and wider HR teams

 

About you

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience in a reward specialist / expert role.
  • Experience of designing, implementing and managing reward systems, benefits, policies and processes.
  • Experience of using Mercer Job Evaluation system, grading and salary banding.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills, ability to work and communicate with senior stakeholders and staff at all levels
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing; able to influence well at all levels
  • Good knowledge of HR policies and practices and continuous improvement
  • Able to work at pace in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong team working skills, able to work collaboratively across the HR function
  • Numerate with the ability to understand and analyse complex information and data
  • Advanced level skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Degree qualified or equivalent e.g. CIPD Level 5 or above, or equivalent Reward Management
