Your new role

Role Location: This role can be based in the UK, Italy or Japan


In this exciting new role you will operate as part of the Group Category Procurement (GCP) team which are responsible for the provision of strategic and operational Procurement for assigned materials and services related to e.g. IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, Logistics, Facilities Management etc.


Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:


Leading and facilitating sourcing projects aimed at identifying cost saving and optimisation opportunities guided by Category Management


Responsibility for contributing towards developing the appropriate sourcing strategy by utilising best in class sourcing methodologies


Collaborating with stakeholders to help them develop specifications, gain quotations and conduct analysis to balance the value of competing bids and make business case based recommendations


Supporting the Procurement Management Team and working with suppliers to ensure cost reduction, risk mitigation and to establish robust commercial agreements


Leading, co-ordinating and taking responsibility for all day to day operational procurement activities and trouble-shooting, including liaison with end users and other internal stakeholders as required


Managing the procurement operations team (P2P/Order placing/requisitions) in terms of prioritisation, development, query resolution and measuring performance to ensure the highest standards of delivery and customer service


Resolving any day-to-day end user and supplier operational queries including invoice and payment issues in conjunction with Finance and budget holders as appropriate when escalated from the Team


Inspiring and managing the performance of direct reports conducting regular 1 to 1 sessions including, but not limited to, half-yearly and annual appraisals and personal development plans


Empowering, mentoring and developing team members to ensure ongoing skills/knowledge growth, succession/resilience planning and self-sufficiency/ownership/responsibility as far as practically possible


Overseeing day-to-day order lead-time resolution with the team and internal stakeholders


Manage the performance of direct reports (if applicable) conducting regular 1:1 meetings, coaching and mentoring personal development, and provide constructive feedback through appraisals


About you


Experienced in end to end strategic sourcing 


A solid record of accomplishment in shaping procurement operations with line management experience and ideally senior stakeholder interface experience across a range of organisations.


Solid Purchasing Systems (P2P) technical knowledge, ideally including SAP and Bravo Systems


Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams


Working knowledge of Procurement Processes - to an advanced working level across a range of organisations.


Sound general knowledge of Procurement principles and practices.


Strong People Management, communication and collaborative team working skills


Qualifications

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience


Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), or Institute of Supply Management (CPSM, or CPM) or another appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.
