Sr. IT Operations Analyst

Hitachi America, Ltd. is looking for a collaborative IT Professional with extensive planning, analytical skills and a passion for customer satisfaction.


Summary: Primary subject matter expert regarding IT shared services environment and responsible for the administration of business operations management function consolidated strategic planning, and business operations/administration practices across the HAL Information Technology Organization. The role supports the CIO and technology leadership team and reports to the Sr. Director of IT. This person will make IT teams successful through resourceful solutions, attention to detail, thorough execution, and clear communications. Experience in project and portfolio management, transformation initiatives, enterprise resource planning and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

§   Support IT business operations management including HAL IT strategic and portfolio planning activities, collaborate with Sr. Director IT in developing transformation and quarterly project roadmap and associated cost benefit analysis.

§   Explore, recommend and administer cost containment initiative along with process oversight including shared services operating model, data reconciliation and balanced score card to analyze ROI.

§   Support IT in making well informed decisions by governing the strategic initiatives portfolio. Identify key Portfolio risks and closely manage the mitigation plan.

§   Ensure adoption of standardized program/project governance methodologies in collaboration with the HAL IT Portfolio, Compliance and Governance team. 

§  Drive ITSD entrustment process governance in collaboration with Sr. Director IT.

§  Responsible for filing all the IT operations related forms/documents for different Hitachi groups (Audits, SEC report, SALT, surveys, Compliance reports, Tax requests, insurance etc.,) 

§   Assist HAL IT Functional leads in strategic planning processes in collaboration with Corporate IT inclusive of quarterly shared services project pipeline, forecasting and real-time reporting.

§   Provide leadership with dashboard and metrics for factual transparencies.  Manages accrual tracking and reporting process to ensure proper treatment and reporting of department.


§   Partners with Corporate and LOB finance & accounting teams, maintaining alignment and clear lines of communication regarding standard practices, and policy.

§   In addition, performs all IT A/R related activities including invoicing, credits, accruals and d/f revenue management.  Per HAL Finance guidance, coordinate with HAL IT leads and consolidate submission of IT Balance sheet, IT P&L and GL entries to Finance.


  •       Bachelor’s degree in business/IT operations or related field is required.
  •       10+ years of experience of driving business operations management, program management and shared services for complex global transformation initiatives and activities across the project lifecycle is required. 
  •      Assist in managing and understanding strategic planning.
  •      Strong written and verbal communication skills, including senior executive engagement and high level of personal integrity.
  •      Demonstrated portfolio management skills, with proven ability to connect strategy to execution.
  •      Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  •      Strong cross-functional influencing skills, and proven ability to work with outside vendors, partners and customers.
  •      Advanced experience in SAP system, transactions and reporting.
  •      Strong MS Office skills, Smartsheets, Dashboard and Metrics tools.
  •      Background and understanding of technology operations in IT.
  •      Strong mix of technology background, process management, accounting, and financial analysis.
