Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. With a solid network of branches nationally, we service a multitude of customers, including mining, construction, quarry and forestry with quality equipment and after sales support.

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Specialist - Construction Equipment who has relevant industry knowledge and who will contribute to the ongoing growth of the Hitachi branded range of construction equipment. This role is based at our Corporate Support Group Sydney Office.

Reporting to the Major Accounts Product Support Manager, you will take ownership for building and maintaining internal and external customer relationships, whilst delivering high level technical and product support.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Demonstrating safety leadership and commitment to HCA Safety Policies & Procedures
  • Using strong analytical and problem solving skills to manage and resolve technical issues relating to construction equipment.
  • Providing professional and high level technical communications to internal and external customers, with a focus on problem solving and stakeholder management
  • Identifying and implementing product improvement projects by working with OEM support and HCA Engineering team

To be successful, you will need:

  • Relevant mechanical trade or engineering qualifications
  • Significant experience in open cut mining, civil earthworks or other related industries, either in engineering, maintenance leadership or technical/product support roles
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) with the ability to effectively liaise and deliver information at a high level to a diverse range of internal and external customers
  • Genuine desire to deliver Hitachi's Promise of Total Customer Satisfaction as you develop and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • Experience with Hitachi Construction Equipment will be highly regarded
  • Strong computing skills (Microsoft Office applications)
