General Responsibilities:  Under the direction of department or executive management, this position exercises responsibility for execution of the company’s strategic and tactical plans in collaboration with the sales teams of Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas, Inc. 
Job Summary: 
  • Solicit input from customers regarding quality issues, in order to improve internal product quality. 
  • Maintain updated knowledge and familiarity with products, relevant manufacturing processes, and professional rapport with staff.  
  • Work with other groups and department management within the company in communication with customers, clarifying details of orders, tracking status quotes and purchase orders, and gathering market research data.
  • Facilitate set up and maintenance of sample parts, quotations, and drawings.  
  • Take ownership in the Quotation process.  
  • May use customer specific database systems to track engineering changes and communication status to department management staff.
  • Create sample purchase orders and generate shippers and bar code labels when necessary for an assigned sales department and maintain order tracking to ensure piece price information and recovery of tooling and ED&T funds.  
  • May process custom freight documentation for an assigned sales department. 
  • Generate internal inventory release applications for an assigned sales department.  
  • Retrieve production and sample purchase orders from assigned customers corresponding websites.  
  • Interact with customers to provide and maintain open line of communication in response to quality investigations and resolve complaints and report status to assigned sales department management. 
  • Communicate and direct customer inquiries for prompt resolution. 
  • Maintain all “sample” tracking information internally via spreadsheet and external customer websites.  
  • Support and track customer request for quotation (RFQ) activity relative to assigned product/product line.  
  • Communicate with sales department management any changes, transaction discrepancies or issues.  
  • Perform miscellaneous departmental support functions as requested.  
  • Work alongside other sales and engineering program staff to accomplish set goals and objectives.  
  • Review program time frames, funding limitations, staffing requirements, project procedures, and allotment of available resources for all phases of project and report issues or needs.  
  • Set up and maintain files/reports on new product/design changes, quotations, product pricing, shipping volumes, collections, raw materials, sales and forecasting, etc. 
  • Conduct weekly/regular spec tender/order summary meetings internally.
  • Generate production tooling invoices.  
  • Lead the assigned sales program(s) cost, activities, operations and forecasts to determine progress toward goals.  
  • Develop sales forecast budget for the assigned customer program/projects.  
  • Support contract reviews and price negotiations for the department’s assigned program/product line.  
  • Ensure customer satisfaction feasibility and design specifications and keep record of customer design changes.  
  • Support corporate objectives and sales business goals and objectives for continuous future development, growth and improvement of the company overall.  
  • May assist with preparation of department support tasks such as presentations, meetings, supplies, recordings, budgets, visitor direction, etc.  
  • Consistently use exceptional customer service skills and work with all levels of staff, and maintain strict confidentiality of information.  
  • Maintain a safe workplace and follow all regulations and requirements related to safety and environmental compliance.  
  • Follow all quality policy standards.  
  • Attend customer meetings as required.  
  • Represent the company with assigned customers.  
  • Travel to customer locations supporting product development throughout for product reviews, testing, and change updates with periodic travel with customer to company manufacturing facilities (domestic and international).   

Qualifications

Qualifications: 
Knowledge skills and abilities:  
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills. 
  • Well organized, detail oriented.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction. 
  • High level of customer interface. 
Education: Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sales Management or related area.  
Experience: 2 - 5 (I), or 5-10(II) years industry experience. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: May be required to supervise the duties of others to perform the job responsibilities as designated by area/department management to ensure project success / deliverables.
