Your new role
 
We are currently recruiting for a talented Performance Manager (West) based in our Bristol location. In this exciting role you will be responsible on behalf of the Head of Contracts & Performance (West) for the management of operational and fleet technical issues associated with the delivery of Train Services Agreements (TSAs), and the maintenance and support of the AT300 fleets in order to drive continuous improvement and support fleet reliability growth.
 
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:
  • Act as the initial point of contact with the customer for train performance and provide support to AT300 fleets whilst in service.
  • Act as the lead for the train performance and reliability growth of the AT300 fleets.
  • Manage the investigation, escalation and resolution of technical incidents attributed to the train.
  • Monitor the operational performance of the AT300 fleet in line with contractual obligations.
  • Identify, evaluate and understand operational and fleet performance issues and capability gaps through research and operational analysis.
  • Develop and own the Performance Management System and associated KPI metrics to drive performance improvement.
  • Management of data and information within the SAP maintenance management system and SOROS fleet management systems.
  • Lead the necessary daily, weekly and monthly fleet performance meetings and drive the accountable support functions in order to deliver performance growth.
  • Monitor fleet availability and reliability, as well as the KPI and presentation standards under the IEP TSA throughout the operational day in order to inform contractual requirements.
  • Develop and manage the Fleet Performance Improvement Plan (FPIP).
  • Build and maintain key datasets and performance indicators, and the identify trends to drive reliability growth, performance improvement and associated maintenance costs
  • Analyse requirements and develop scope and options for continuous operational improvement.
  • Design, develop and deliver innovative solutions that focus on the holistic management of operational capability across all functions and contracts.
  • Lead the Period Contract Performance Reviews and create the supporting Performance Reports (including the Paymech for IEP).
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in relation to operations, contracts and fleet performance.
  • Identify, manage and resolve risks and issues and initiate appropriate corrective action.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders and maintain a customer focus.
  • Liaise with contractors and external repair agencies in order to drive performance improvement.
  • Lead on the performance management of Generating Units (GUs) and drive MTU to deliver improvements.
  • Report progress, prepare performance reports and give verbal briefs and presentations as required.
  • Promote, support and comply with all health and safety practices in the workplace.
  • Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as required.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Head of Contracts & Performance (West).

  • Experience operating in an engineering/technical environment.

  • Good knowledge and familiarity with modern training methodologies.

Qualifications

  • An engineering based degree or equivalent
  • Leadership and management training qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma.
