Hitachi America, Ltd. ( on behalf of Hitachi, Ltd.  is searching for a Sr. HRIS Project Management Specialist to join the Global HRIS team as part of the Global Human Capital Division. This person will be responsible for managing and coordinating different aspects of HR systems/technology projects including but not limited to Workday projects. 




  • Lead implementation of Workday HCM and other Workday functionality for specific Hitachi companies based on the Hitachi Global Framework.
  • Engage and communicate with different stakeholders including Steering Committee and other senior management as part of project delivery.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans for deployment of Workday HCM to specific Hitachi companies and for new/enhanced Workday HCM functionality.
  • Responsible for the coordination and tracking of project milestones, dependencies, issues and risks for assigned projects specific but not limited to integration and data workstreams.
  • Communicate and partner with Workday team in India, other Hitachi companies and vendors to manage different project milestones throughout project life cycle.
  • Provide project status updates to different stakeholders based on required frequency/cadence including Steering Committee, senior management, project stakeholders and other HR initiative forums.
  • Monitor cross project dependencies, risks and mitigation plans in partnership with other project leads/SME’s.
  • Responsible for documenting and monitoring project items including decisions, action items, change control requests, meeting minutes.
  • Assist in the coordination of change control requests with rest of project team members.
  • Monitor project resource utilization and escalate resource gaps/issues to PMO and HRIS Management
  • Provide input into standard project delivery methodology and tools as required.
  • Participate in key planning and strategic sessions for Workday planning and support for all Hitachi companies
  • Other project management and PMO activities as needed


  • Bachelor or equivalent education required related to HR, IT, or Information Systems
  • 7+ years of experience in IT or HRIS field
  • 7+ years of experience in project management; PMP certification is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience with Workday.  Other HR system experience is a plus
  • Experience with Agile PM methodology
  • Experience with project management tools and automation
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects and global environment
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of stakeholders including senior management
  • Ability to manage projects and drive to completion with minimal direction
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-learner
  • Microsoft office skills including Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage confidential data
