About the Opportunity

As our customer fleets continue to grow, an outstanding opportunity has become available for a technical and customer focused individual to join the Corporate Support Group - Service department based in our Sydney or Muswellbrook office.

Reporting to the National Technical Support Manager - Mining Trucks, you will take ownership for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers, while delivering high level technical support for the Hitachi mining truck product.

Working closely within a team of technical experts, this position is crucial to delivering successful solutions for technical issues and queries, that in return ensure the highest performance and reliability for our customer's mining truck fleets.

In this technical support position, you will be responsible for

  • Providing solutions for Hitachi mining truck technical issues, while managing escalation, workflow and quality using internal reporting systems
  • Identifying and implementing product improvement projects by working with OEM support and HCA Engineering teams
  • Working with internal and external customers to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, performance and reliability of customer fleets
  • Providing professional and high level communications to internal and external customers, with a focus on stakeholder management
  • Ensuring that project planning includes a high level of safety focus and risk management for all tasks

To be successful, you will need

  • Relevant electrical trade or engineering qualifications
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with commitment to follow HCA Safety Policies & Procedures
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) with the ability to effectively liaise and deliver information at a high level to both internal and external customers
  • Strong computing skills (Microsoft Office applications)
  • Experience working in a maintenance leadership or customer support role in the mining, rail, construction or other related industry
  • Experience with heavy mining equipment, AC drive systems, automation or relevant control system technologies will be highly regarded
