We are currently seeking candidates to work at our Monroe, Georgia location. We need a Lead Technician who is comfortable working in a high speed production process as well as  attention to detail to ensure that a quality product is produced for our customers. Individuals hired for this position must be able and available to train and work on available shifts and be  willing and able to work mandatory overtime.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products/ process including training team members and evaluating production results (KPIs). Develops process documentation and operator work instructions (OWIs) to facilitate operator training on equipment operation, part processes and part quality inspection.
• Manages the production training process to improve skill level of new and current Operators, Line Assistants, Group Leaders, and Supervisors.
• Manages the daily production scrap review process for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency activities.
• Utilizes production and machine data for driving scrap reduction and process efficiency improvement projects.
• Leads Kaizen activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.  Uses systematic methods such as collecting and analyzing downtime / scrap data, dimensional data, etc.
• Troubleshoots assembly and/or machining processes and equipment as required to meet quality and production requirements.
• Leads cross-functional team for solving quality problems by using root-cause analysis tools.
• Gives recommendations to Production Engineering department regarding improvements for future equipment and processes.
• Practices 5S and Plan/Do/Check/Action cycles.
• Supports TS16949 and ISO 14000 audits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive field.
• Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, machining, assembly, and production equipment.
• Familiarity with TS16949, ISO14001 and OSHA regulations.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals. Must be proficient in MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint. Some Access experience preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required to sit or stand and move about the facility.  Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Combination of office and plant environment.  May be required to use safety glasses and wear steel toe shoes while performing specific tasks or while in specific manufacturing areas.
