The Role
As a result of expansion and investment in our Transportation Industry Practice, Hitachi Vantara is looking to hire a results-oriented Business Development Executive with a strong vertical and business aptitude. Deep industry knowledge and expertise and strong executive relationships will enable the role to represent the voice of the customer at a global level and to demonstrate how Hitachi solutions can support their business challenges, leveraging the next generation of manufacturing optimization technologies and broader IoT solutions offerings.

Key to success in the role is a unique blend of natural leadership, industry and commercial understanding, with a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.

• Leading sales and solution development with major Transportation customers with full accountability for engagement and relationship management
• Defining the strategy, business plan, and detailed requirements and roadmap for the accounts
• Development and implementation of a company-wide business and go-to-market plan, engaging appropriate expertise from the broader Hitachi Vantara organization to support the account strategy
• Build and expand relationships with customer business stakeholders to uncover opportunities for revenue generation and account growth and establish the role as a thought leader
• Exceptional presentation and communications skills with an ability to work directly with customer executives to increase footprint and level of engagement
• Ability to analyze the financial condition of the business and provide high-quality monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial results for executives
• Work with other leaders in Digital Solutions to identify opportunities to expand the portfolio of services offered to key accounts
• Overseeing delivery teams to drive completion of projects on time and on budget while meeting and/or exceeding client expectations
• Supporting the development of Hitachi Vantara Intellectual Property (IP) by helping to define solutions, solution artefacts and/or points of view based on engagement experience

• The ideal candidate will hold an MBA or graduate degree in computer science or engineering, however experience in lieu of qualifications will be considered
• Significant sales leadership experience with the ability to pursue and develop opportunities into real client-based sales propositions
• Deep knowledge of the Transportation domain and innovation in industrial areas, including understanding the competitive landscape
• Able to anticipate technology and market trends and provides guidance and feedback to the business
• Understanding of manufacturing optimization technologies and IoT solution such as Reliability Centered and Predictive Maintenance
• A proven track record in building long-term client relationships through the creation of value and developing a strong reference base
• Able to deliver high levels of client satisfaction and client engagement
• Experience with XaaS offering and pricing models is an advantage
