Hitachi Vantara is seeking a Senior Cloud Automation Architect to join our development team. We are working to change the way the company and our product interface with the cloud. The candidate will primarily focus on the design, development, a maintenance of automated and semi-automated systems and processes to help build foundational elements of our products cloud integration. The ideal candidate will also spend time building automation around our core products to facilitate this end. The ideal candidate will have direct experience building and maintain complex and diverse cloud topologies in production environments at scale. The candidate should be sharp with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to this rapidly evolving technology area.

Key job functions include
• Design and execute project plans
• Oversee the QA program as it relates to automation efforts
• Maintain source code and automation frameworks
• Create reusable code templates
• Participate in API definition and development
• Create POC web architectures and help mature them into production systems
• Gather and refine requirements
• Participate in meetings with offshore development teams
• Perform basic server administration and setup when needed

Key skills include
• Ability to work independently, finding solutions to complex problems with minimal oversight
• Ability to lead a team with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds
• Ability to provide technical requirements to the team
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• 9+ years of software related work experience
• AWS Solutions Architect Certification
• Experience working in the storage industry
• Experience coding (in Python, Perl, Java, etc.)
• Direct experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, etc.)
• Experienced in working with RESTful web services
• Exposure to container technologies (Docker, K8s, etc.)
• Experience building cloud native applications
• Super strong AWS solution design skills
• Deployment and operation of cloud solutions in production environments at scale
• Ability to work with in an agile software development team
• Linux expert

Not required but a strong plus
• Experience with Python is a plus
• Experienced working with GCP and/or Azure are a strong plus
• Experience as a product owner or architect in addition to direct development
• Prior work with web analytics technologies
• Networking expertise
