Description

The Engineering Technician will be involved in the adjustment, measurement, test and inspection of PBT equipment under the direction of Hitachi Site Manager.  


The Technician must work in compliance with all laws and both external and internal regulations such as worker safety, radiation protection, technical and mechanical procedure and facility protocols.  The position requires electrical/mechanical knowledge and relevant work experience.  Must to be proficient in Japanese and English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform test, inspection, adjustment of PBT equipment

  • Verify control of the whole system and its system integrity

  • Report results of inspection and corrective action taken to the Site Manager.

  • Monitor operation of the PBT system and take actions to improve its performance

  • Develop a complete working knowledge of PBT system

  • Comply with all regulatory standards and requirements such as, applicable laws, regulations and company policies

  • Adopt new technology, products and processes in daily operations

  • Respond to calls for service support promptly and communicate with the customer to ensure their satisfaction

  • Manage work schedule as well as spare parts usage to maximize effectiveness and minimize costs

  • Fulfill work orders and business procedures including submission of working reports, time card, expense report, etc.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Field Measurement, etc.)

  • 3+ years of experience in the following:

    • Setting up equipment and performing tests on systems such as safety interlock systems

    • Support of troubleshooting for construction or commissioning

    • Maintenance of industrial plants, medical devices or nuclear power equipment

  • Proven skill in reading and correctly interpreting various engineering documents (schematics, wiring, diagrams, piping diagrams, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments (DVM, oscilloscope, micrometers, etc.)

  • Capable of working independently as well as a part of cross-functional team

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Flexibility in working hours and shift patterns

  • Familiarity with working in area of high-voltage, radiation and electromagnetic

  • Ability to work  at 10+ meters height and to lift up to 32kg  repeatedly and safely

  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and latest PC technology

  • Proficiency in; English (required), Japanese (highly preferred), Spanish and Italian (preferable)

  • Willingness of international job relocation  (required)
