Job Summary

Reporting to WA Branch Manager & Group QA Compliance Manager we are looking for a passionate and talented QA/HSE Compliance officer to join our team in Perth.  We would love your skill set in this role to support and help maintain management systems aligned with ISO standards and the HEPI Group and make recommendations to establish best practice standards for the Company.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring management systems are aligned and comply with ISO Standards and the HEPI Group and make recommendations to establish best practice for the Company.

You’ll enjoy using your critical thinking and problem-solving skills to offer innovative solutions when it comes to managing our operational data and adhering to compliance requirements. You’ll be a valued member of our team who builds relationships and engages with a wide range of stakeholders.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining all aspects of ISO compliance in Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment.  
  • Assist the business to achieve a good understanding of ISO, internal compliance and state and national legislation requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures and processes.
  • Participate in Internal Audits, some travel will be required.
  • Undertake projects as directed by the Group QA Compliance Manager.
  • Ensure incidents are reported immediately, escalating as required to the Group Safety Manager.
  • Ensure all incidents are investigated and actioned in accordance with company procedures, industry and legislative requirements.
  • Make recommendations to management that will improve safety compliance and reduce the risk of hazards in the workplace. 
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly safety reports and statistics and forward to appropriate managers and staff.
  • Manage non-conformances to HS&E related matters.
  • In conjunction with operational supervisors, identify and manage recognized risks and control and remove hazards.
  • Ensure compliance to group induction and training requirements.
  • Undertake scheduled HS&E activities as required.

The successful applicant must possess the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a similar industrial environment.      
  • Excellent verbal and written skills – advanced interpersonal communications skills.
  • Leadership skills – team building and guidance to others.    
  • Ability to prepare reports, analyse data, implement new systems and maintain them.

Favourable skills/experience:

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • High level of initiative and judgement.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people and communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
  • Commitment to quality and the concepts of continuous improvement.
  • Cert IV qualification or higher in WHS, Quality, Auditing and Training Management Systems.
