Description

Summary of the position:

This position will be responsible for credit and collections activity for customer accounts and will be based in Michigan City, Indiana.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for customer account collection and reconciliation
  • Communicate directly with customer base and build rapport
  • Point person for all customer inquiries related to account statement activity
  • Review orders on credit hold and determine if they should be released
    • Analyze customer aging and past due amount, recent payment history, etc.
  • Process manual transactions (credit/debit memos, account reimbursements, etc.)
  • Assist controller organization in matters related to accounts receivable
  • Assist in new account setup process
  • Cross train and assist in cash applications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field

Professional experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in credit and/or collections, working directly with customers
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Outlook, Excel)
  • Strong organization skills; must keep track of large number of customer accounts and their current status
