The Opportunity

Due to a recent vacant position within the region, our Tasmanian division has an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic / HD Fitter to join our team. In this role, your key focus will be to provide preventative and breakdown maintenance on a wide range of Hitachi Construction and Mining equipment mainly in the North of the state. Responsibilities include:

• Performing onsite repairs on a wide range of equipment
• Attending to site breakdowns state-wide.
• Undertaking diagnostic work
• Liaising with a network of customers within the territory, whilst building strong relationships
• Working with internal technical support staff to achieve successful maintenance outcomes

To be successful in this role you will:

• Ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within - safety takes priority over everything else
• Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) mobile plant trade qualifications
• Have experience, knowledge and understanding of civil and mining equipment
• Have a strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously within remote areas
• Have good communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
• Have great technical knowledge and diagnostic ability (excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi quarry & mining equipment would be highly advantageous)
• Proven ability to work autonomously and be competent in making decisions to support both our clients and our business.
• Have at least 4 years proven post trade field service experience
