Role Definitions - Description:

To support the customer solution architecting process, providing post-sales technical expertise and implementation skill in the practice area, and for engagement support

1. Supporting and designing a content-related or customized Software Development(SD) and product solution based on the customer's business and technical requirements
2. Participate in the configuration, installation and documentation of Hitachi content-related or SD-related solutions
3. Establish a dialogue with the customer to achieve trusted technical adviser status
4. Provide technical expertise to gather requirements from the customer
5. Identify and explain benefits of the solution to customer technical and business personnel

6. Identify opportunities and communicate them to manager and account teams

Develop deep expertise on Hitachi products and current and emerging technologies in the relevant practice area (BC, SM or ECA)
By request, accompany Account Managers and other members of sales teams on customer visits to:
Gather customer requirements
Increase services sales
Explain the services portfolio of the practice and its value to customers
Qualify services opportunities in the practice area and assist Account Managers in selecting the appropriate service to meet their customer's needs
Agree deliverables and timescales with the project manager, and deliver in accordance with this agreement
Identify potential issues preventing the successful delivery of services or solutions and inform the Project Manager appropriately
Participate in skills development and maintenance planning with Practice Principal
Make appropriate use of Solutions and Services tools
Prepare and distribute White Papers relating to engagements
Participate in account planning and territory reviews as requested
Comply with Hitachi policies and guidelines
Perform other duties as required or directed by manager

Track record of success in content-related and SD-related consulting and solutions design
At least 3 years' experience within one of the three practice areas within Hitachi, a similar competitor organization, end user or IT consultancy services provider
Project management background is preferred.
Good knowledge of Hitachi products and services related to the practice area
Practical 'hands on' experience of the delivery of practice-related services, knowledge of the techniques, sensitivities, and issues that arise. Knowledge of IT development processes and IT technologies
Good knowledge and experience on following:
Object-oriented solution
System administration
Data Base Administration
Data Migration
For Business Continuity Practice
Experience in designing and implementing and documenting business continuity solutions
For Content and Storage Management Practice
Experience in designing, implementing and documenting Content and storage management solutions
Detailed technical knowledge of Hitachi Content and storage management products
Good knowledge of HiCommand architecture
For Electronic Content Archiving Practice
Familiarity with tiered storage solutions and data lifecycle management
Experience in designing, implementing and documenting archiving solutions
Technical aptitude to enable information about Hitachi products and services to be absorbed and applied to solve business problems
Able to develop well-structured presentations with informative and well-presented information appropriate for the desired audience
Personable - be able represent Hitachi positively to customers
Able to work in unstructured environments and situations
Able to relate well to both customer business and technical staff
