About the Opportunity

Our Melbourne branch has a new and exciting opportunity available for a Workshop based Trades Assistant to join the Hitachi team. Based in our Dandenong branch, this is a permanent full time position which will see you learn and develop your skills and experience first-hand on all aspects of Heavy Diesel equipment maintenance.

Working alongside qualified technicians and learning from the best, this role will be best suited to someone who enjoys varied and interesting work as you will learn to execute a range of OEM level services related to the upkeep, cleaning and repairing of components. Reporting to the Service Supervisor you will be involved in general store control and providing assistance to qualified technicians.

• Mechanical Experience - Sound understanding of Mining, Earthmoving and/or Construction equipment with an ability to recognise basic quality deviations and fault
• Workshop Skillset: A High Risk Forklift License and Spray painting experience will be a distinct advantage
• Analytical thinking - Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when carrying out final QA inspections and packaging units ready for dispatch
• Autonomous productivity - A self-driven Initiative to plan work fronts efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining a clean and tidy environment
