Event and Marketing Specialist

Hitachi America, Ltd. ( is searching for an Event and Marketing Specialist to join the Branding & Corporate Communications Group (BCCG). The Events and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of all external and internal events coordinated by BCCG, including, but not limited to, Hitachi-organized events, tradeshows, industry specific events, internal events, and corporate sponsorships. Additionally, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing plans, organization and management of event logistics materials, and preparation of post-event reporting. This position will work in coordination with BCCG’s Event Manager.

This person must be a self-starter, strong in organization, as well as written and oral communication.


  • Planning, implementation and follow-up for all events.
  • Develop and maintain event marketing and logistics plans.
  • Manage certain aspects of event coordination, including but not limited to, participation in event discussions with event organizers, preparation of marketing materials, organization of speaker logistics, communications, and reporting.
  • Coordination of event logistics with event contractors and organizers.
  • Write event summary articles for publication on company websites.
  • Actively participate in all event-related meetings.
  • Assist BCCG’s manager on other duties as directed and required.
  • Responsible for the development and tracking of post-event materials and follow-up.
  • Establish strong working relationships, liaising and networking with Hitachi, Ltd. (HQ), other Hitachi group companies/divisions and vendors.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, PR, or other related field of study is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a special events, marketing, or public relations role is required.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Familiarity with event coordination best practices for B2B companies.
  • Must be able to work EST hours to mostly overlap with Manager’s business hours.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time both domestically and internationally is required.
  • Excellent organization and writing skills.
