Brand Assistant – 1-Year Placement
Role Overview
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an ambitious, creative and talented undergraduate to join the Corporate Communications and Sustainability Office of Hitachi Europe as a Brand Assistant on a year’s paid placement.
Initially, you will be working from home, with a partial return to the office planned post-pandemic. Computer equipment will be provided.

The Corporate Communications and Sustainability Office (CCSO) is part of Hitachi Europe Ltd and is responsible for pan-European branding, advertising, public relations, investor relations, sustainability and environment-related activities. The main role of CCSO is to reinforce Hitachi’s image amongst senior decision-makers, and to deliver the Hitachi story to internal and external stakeholders. CCSO also supports corporate communications for the other Hitachi Group companies across the EMEA-CIS region, including Hitachi Rail Europe, Hitachi Medical Systems, Hitachi Vantara, Hitachi High-Technologies, Hitachi Astemo, and many more.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities;
As Brand Assistant you’ll be joining a team that is fast-moving and hardworking, developing and delivering communications on a pan-European level, as well as supporting the needs of our local European offices. You will consequently gain exposure to a broad range of brand activities.
You will be mainly working on our online communications, maintaining and developing our corporate websites, handling external enquiries, monitoring and analysing the website performance, and working with internal and external stakeholders.
You will work closely with colleagues from Hitachi Group companies to make sure product information and web links are accurate and up-to date in 16 languages. You will also work with external website development and translation agencies to manage the online content. You will use online tools such as website analytics and link checkers, as well as our Drupal and Sitecore content management systems. You will handle online enquiries from European customers, and either respond to them or redirect them internally as appropriate. You’ll also get involved in designing and developing new content to keep the websites looking fresh and engaging.
