The Real Estate - Workplace Solutions team are geographically dispersed and require a forward-thinking, mature people leader; one that can support and develop them in providing best in class services and solutions to the organisation.

Acknowledging the significant shift in traditional corporate ways of working and, recognising the important role that the forward-thinking provision of office space, solutions and services play in attracting and retaining talent, you will provide strategic and tactical leadership of real estate and workplace solutions for our EMEA region.

What you'll be doing

Partnering with regional and in-country leadership, you will gain a deep understanding of current and short / long-term projected needs and develop strategic facilities plans and creative workplace solutions that provide the right space, services, systems, processes and critical resources.

Ensuring the continued high performance of your team of direct and indirect reports, through effective coaching, performance evaluation, goal setting, training and career development to safeguard successful delivery of site support services and programs (maintenance operations, mail, copy, reception, meal / vending, janitorial etc.) necessary to support daily business operations.

You'll be responsible for running project teams and overseeing design, construction and vendor coordination activities to deliver to timescale and cost estimates. In collaboration with Human Resources, Risk Management, Global Protective Services and Legal Departments, you will establish and ensure that Hitachi facilities are compliant with applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EH-S) standards and incorporate such requirements into the design of leasehold improvement and space planning projects.

What you bring to the team
  • Experience managing a diverse and complex EMEA real estate portfolio, ensuring that current and projected space inventory meets evolving business needs
  • An highly developed and nurturing leadership style with the ability to motivate and inspire a geographically dispersed team of facilities professionals to deliver an outstanding level of service
  • A track record of strategic planning, lease negotiation and developing space and occupancy utilization / optimization programs to accommodate inventory adjustments in a flexible and creative manner
  • A personable style with the ability to develop close working relationships with:
    • business leaders - both to understand and challenge their requirements
    • the outsourced real estate service firm contracted to provide services to Hitachi
