Sr. Payroll Specialist

Status: Temporary for 4-6 months

Summary

Hitachi America, Ltd. is looking for an experienced payroll professional with extensive knowledge of ADP Workforce Now to assist the payroll team for 4-6 months. This person will help oversee the current payroll shared services accounts, with the possibility of leading a new implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure payrolls are processed in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner
  • Direct the collection, input, and review of pay data from HR, Benefits, and others
  • Manage the maintenance of current employee data systems
  • Build custom reports to support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Perform quality assurance and payroll testing
  • Research and resolve client/system errors, offering solutions with timely responses
  • Utilize SmartCompliance to monitor and resolve agency tax tracers
  • Assist with the implementation of new clients into ADP Workforce Now
  • Prepare and upload new client information to ADP WFN via import batches
  • Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Operations, and Accounting teams for payroll related concerns
  • Monitor and provide status updates to reporting manager on all pending projects
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with all internal and external partners
  • Provide back-up support to other payroll team members are needed
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client and employee information

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 to 10 years of payroll experience utilizing ADP Workforce Now systems is required.
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred, not required
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing
  • Solid understanding of local and federal tax laws
  • Experience with payroll software implementation
  • Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Utilization of MS Office platforms (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Must have good judgement and strong critical thinking skills.
