Business Improvement Manager

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, this role will identify and assess projects that either expand production or facility capability, implement new product or service lines, or improve business efficiencies.


  • Identify business improvement opportunities and scope projects for approval in line with strategic priorities.
  • Prepare business cases including feasibility studies and risk assessment for selected projects.
  • Apply mining services knowledge to plan for future activities that meet client needs and market trends.
  • Utilise operational knowledge to direct the design or upgrade of new or existing facilities.
  • Collate and analyse business and market data against future priorities.
  • Collaborate with operational leads on project implementation.
  • Brief developers and contractors on project definition at implementation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Finance or similar.
  • Minimum eight years in business development, operations, or general management position.
  • Project management experience with large budget projects.
  • Extensive key stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience with financial scenario planning and feasibility studies.
  • Dynamic and persuasive communication skills.


  • Have a direct influence on identifying and delivering strategic projects.
  • Leadership position in a fast-paced organisation in growth mode.
  • Exposure to development opportunities being a Hitachi-owned business.
