Summary of the position:

This position is responsible for understanding all the customer application, market, sales and technical aspects of the product. He/she is the go-to contact for questions from all internal (sales, engineering, program management, procurement, quality, finance) and external functions (channel partners, end-customers).   The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in differences in compressor product lineup and technology; air-end technology designs; operating conditions and applications; certifications and compliance; and differences in selling advantages. 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Competitor benchmarking (price, performance, features, functions)
  • Product launches (presentations, training, marketing material, branding, naming)
  • Trade show selection, planning (product selection) and representation
  • Process and policy development / improvement (service, warranty, delivery)
  • Inventory management (orders, deliveries, mix and quantity) – S&OP input
  • Market Requirements Document (MRD) for new product programs
  • Product pricing (price sheets)
  • Technical data sheets (CAGI)
  • Customer delivery issue management support (late, damaged, incorrect) – if order processing team cannot resolve the situation
  • Distributor / sales team product questions and feedback (functions, features, product availability, pricing)
  • Sales team quote / bid support
  • NPD reviews (trade off decision making, functional guidance)
  • Quality, warranty, service problem management (R&D and operations)
  • Business case development / updates, sales & margin tracking
  • Distributor partner visits and Voice of the Customer (VoC) analysis
  • New product launch support (engineering, supply chain, operations, sales)
  • Must have analytical skills to evaluate data and resolve design issues to meet program requirements.
  • Candidate must have exceptional team skills with ability to communicate with cross functional NPD teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or Equivalent Degree.

Professional experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Product Development.
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience in New Product Development Phase Gate Design Process is required.
  • Experience in NX Unigraphics or equivalent 3D CAD Software Program is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills are required.
