About the Team at Hitachi
Hitachi Social Innovation addresses the world’s most challenging social and environmental challenges. By focussing on more efficient usage of assets and systems, we extract value to reach outcomes that matter for business and society – what we call the double bottom line. Combining 100+ years of experience in operational technology (OT) and 60+ years in IT, we harness Hitachi’s broad capabilities in R&D to deliver cutting edge AI and IOT solutions in the core areas of transport, manufacturing and energy.
Hitachi is looking for an ICT professional to help them implement and manage their public cloud infrastructure.
The Platforms and DevOps Lead engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation and operation of our public cloud environments. They will work closely with our Head of Solution Development and Technical Leads on the design and delivery of our software and data products and projects in support of Hitachi’s Intelligent Fleet Decarbonisation business.
We are a rapidly growing team building solutions across a variety of public cloud providers. Specifically we have core solutions in AWS and Azure and a couple of small projects in GCP. Therefore the Lead Infrastructure and DevOps engineer must have a deep understanding of public cloud infrastructure in general and expertise in AWS as a minimum.
This role is predominately hands-on as we are a small team and therefore will be expected to manage the full end-to-end life-cycle of our cloud environments, from initial creation using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), through to operation and ultimately to decommissioning.
The role has considerable growth potential and we are looking for a passionate and dynamic public cloud expert who has a desire to build environments following best practice, turn their hand to new challenges and most importantly relish the chance to learn new skills and push the boundaries of their understanding.
