About your new role

The Hitachi Construction Machinery Oceania IT Security department's core focus is the protection of the information assets of the organization. We are seeking a Cyber Operations Analyst, reporting to the IT Security and Compliance Manager, to develop, support, and monitor security controls to achieve the security objectives.

The Cyber Operations Analyst is a key position in the Information Security team responsible for the identification, protection, response, and remediation of operational and security incidents across the organization.

Reporting to the IT Security and Compliance Manager, you will be accountable for:

  • Security Incident Management: Act as a first responder to cyber security incidents, events and ensure that incidents are managed and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Vulnerability Management: Ensure that risks identified in vulnerability scans and penetration reports are assessed for relevance and where necessary tracked or remediated or monitored.
  • Potential cyber threats to the business are actively identified, prevented, and reported
  • Review IT systems including firewall configurations and business processes to identify information security risks and guide remedy of issues identified.
  • Identify and actively prevent new security threats within the business network and systems

You bring to the role:

  • Minimum of 3 years's of experience in cyber security operations, incident response or threat and vulnerability management
  • Strong IT and Networking skills
  • Good understanding of the OSI model and common protocols such as SSL, TLS, TCP, UDP, DNS, and IPSec.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationship within various teams.
