To strengthen our Finance & Accounting in GBS in Krakow, we're looking for a

Senior Financial Reporting Accountant (m/f/d)

The Role

The role will coordinate preparation of the financial statements in a manner that allows management to assert the underlying completeness, existence, valuation, measurement, presentation, rights and obligations thereof.

The role will implement IFRS regulations and will be a main point of contact for IFRS related questions. The role will develop and maintain Accounting manual and Chart of Account and ensure consistent compliance with IFRS and Hitachi Corporate accounting policies

The role is to take overall responsibility for planning, coordination and execution of internal audit and control framework.

Job Responsibilities

  • General Accounting – Close checks (Equity, Audit Fees, Monthly Allocations, Bed Debts, Draft Accounts, Other Income and Expenses, other)
  • Balance Sheet Recs - Guidance/Training (increasing awareness) and Review (By Country and By Process)
  • Balance Sheet Analytics
  • Reconciliation Risk Reporting
  • Investigating accounting queries from FP&A and EMEA Controller
  • Financial data trend review – during and post month end close – to enable early warning
  • Supporting internal and external audit review (Circle of Excellence analysis, analytics for audited areas)
  • Review of actuals – to identify risky trends and enable early warning
  • Review P&L accounts – during and post month end close – to enable early warning
  • Ad hoc transactions and supporting RTR projects
  • Statutory Ledger Bridge
  • Coaching/Guiding/Advising the Country Controller/Finance Director, GL, FP&A and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS, local GAAP (where relevant) and SOX
  • Accounting qualification required (ACCA, CIMA, Polish GAAP)
  • Experience in multinational and relevant sector preferred
  • Computer literate, good analytical skills with business sense
  • Capable of dealing with management in country and various locations
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment and demonstrated ability to work closely and build sustainable business partnerships with Finance & other global functions
  • High level of integrity and ethics
  • Experience in multinational and relevant sector preferred
  • Excellent communication – written & verbal
  • Highly motivational and can work under pressure and tight deadline
  • Fluent English
