ServiceNow ITOM Engineer

Job Overview

The ServiceNow ITOM engineer will gather requirements and implement the service mapping for key services at Hitachi Vantara. He/She will also be responsible in creating/maintaining the Service Mapping to ensure its ongoing health through routine health checks as it relates to Service Mapping and all CMDB discovery related functions (troubleshooting, creating - maintaining discovery schedules, pattern remediations).

Job Functions
• Work with process owners to understand the process requirements related to the capture of configuration data and develop technical specifications and solutions
• Work with process owners to ensure that the Discovery tool has the appropriate access and permissions to capture configuration information
• Provide visibility to the performance and issues related to Discovery
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Network teams to understand IT technology strategy that guide which requirements need to be gathered
• Work with Application SMEs to create and validate Service Maps for key applications
• Participate in daily standup meetings, groom stories as per the requirements
• Perform day to day administration of the ServiceNow Service Mapping and Discovery tool, including mapping additional defined business services into the tool as defined
• Maintain the integrity of the Service Mapping tool across production and non-production environments
• Assisting in troubleshooting patch / release management issues, and upgrades
• Review the data being populated into the CMDB and act as partial owner of the CMDB

Requirements:
• Experience working with ServiceNow's Service mapping, Discovery and Event management
• Experience working with LDAP, Active Directory and SUDO highly desirable
• Experience integrating with tools to federate data into a CMDB
• Experience with Event Management tools
• Understanding web service connections and packet delivery protocols including HTTP, TCP, JDBC, ODBC, SNMP, SOAP, and REST
• Ability to script, parse and interpret files/scripts using XML, JSON, etc
• Ability to discuss credentials, credential access, troubleshoot permission issues, discuss and troubleshoot network connectivity with network team
• Knowledge of Web and Application Servers, Load Balancers, Databases, and Virtualization (WebSphere, MQ, IIS, Apache, VMware)
• Must possess knowledge on cloud orchestration, operational intelligence and ServiceNow orchestration, IntegrationHub and flow designer

Primary Qualifications:
• 3-5 years experience with the ServiceNow ITOM, Discovery and Service Mapping
• 8+ years of total IT experience

Below skills will be preferable:
• ITIL certified
• ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certified ITOM
