What you'll be doing

• Responsible for managing the day-to-day administration for SAN and storage environments, including:
o Collaborate with Customer's storage support teams
o Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned task(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
o Support the design, operation, workflow and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure
o Help maintain systems level maintenance for storage infrastructure
o Responsible for tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth
o Maintain storage documentation, procedures and reporting
o Provide Storage Area Network Configuration and Administration
o Storage Allocations to server infrastructure
• Manage infrastructure events
o Capacity Management
o Monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity
o Perform capacity analysis; analyze performance data and trends
o Responsible for tracking existing storage usage trending and capacity planning for future growth
• Problem resolution
o Problem diagnosis, resolution, and documentation
o Perform Incident resolution
• Investigate and diagnose raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis
o Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices and Company change management policies
o Perform host-level tasks as requested to access new storage
o Interface with assigned Hitachi Data Systems storage engineers to manage the implementation of all additional storage infrastructure and storage services
• Mentor and train junior admins
• Oversee the design, installation, configuration and de-provision of storage solutions
• Performance Management for SAN and storage
o Perform capacity tuning; provide remediation recommendation
• IT Service continuity management, including monitoring of:
o Responsible for providing Disaster Recovery solutions as it relates to SAN and NAS storage by developing and maintaining a library of procedures for disaster recovery documentation
o Data movement and replication
o Business Resumption Testing (DR) including data integrity tests
• Execution of HTsM based migrations
o Includes deployment and utilization of iSEC/SE Console/RIAT
o Coordinating remediation activities with customer
• Executing migrations via HCS utilizing HTsM
• Working knowledge of operating systems like Windows, Linux and Unix (AIX, Solaris and HP/UX) and common multipath platforms
• Strong knowledge of HDP/HDT from design/implementation standpoint
• Planning and design for HTsM, TrueCopy, and/or HUR based migrations
o Includes deployment and utilization of iSEC/SE Console/RIAT
o Coordinating remediation activities with customer
• Executing migrations via HCS or scripted methodologies
• Workload analysis using TMEA concerning array performance during/after migration
