Summary of the position:

The Scheduler within Michigan City’s Oil Free, Shoptek and Air Treatment business maintains the production schedule and communicates the status of stock builds and customer orders for these products.  This position evaluates customer sales orders input, operational capacity, and material availability to effectively utilize operation’s resources to meet customer delivery requirements and provide targeted finished goods inventory levels.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Review Sales orders and assign promise dates based upon forecasts, production capacity, and material availability.
  • Create work order packets for Operations and ensuring timely delivery of packets for weekly production
  • Responsible for proactive analysis of  material coverage to weekly production schedules and  communication of material availability through ‘Shortage Report .
  • Modify the production schedule for prioritization as required and communicate customer delays into  Sales facing functions
  • Coordination of BOM and Engineering (ECO) changes with Supply Chain and Operations.
  • Initiate deviations and make any necessary work order adjustments in the ERP system.
  • Communicate anticipated finish date with Sales/Customer Service through weekly Backlog meeting.
  • Support annual physical inventory.  Focus on proper accounting of Work in Process (WIP).
  • Work directly with employees to resolve scheduling issues.
  • Reconcile inaccuracies with customer shipments and deliveries.
  • Support safety awareness and ergonomic initiatives.



  • Associate degree or minimum of two years post high school training/experience. 

Professional experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience with scheduling, inventory control or operations responsibility.


Key Skills:

  • In depth knowledge of Materials Requirements Planning, Work Order Management and Production Control within an ERP-driven environment.  JDE and/or SAP experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the desire and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. 
  • Organized and efficient; able to prioritize in a demanding environment and handle a heavy workload.
