The Role

Hitachi Vantara Enterprise Architects are technical champions and evangelists who guide customers through their implementation of analytics solution using the Hitachi Vantara portfolio, including Pentaho and Lumada. These individuals are customer- and sales-oriented, are capable of independently developing sophisticated analytics and data integration solutions, and present technical solutions to broad audiences. The right candidate for this position has a proven track record as a consultant with superior technical skills, the ability to lead small teams and to manage strategic client relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates technical kick-off sessions by providing detailed product architecture overviews and determining the customer's design, integration and development plans
• Researches and resolves installation, configuration, deployment and upgrade issues; acts as advocate for customer and liaison to Pentaho's Engineering, Product Management and Support organizations
• Assists with architecture, design, development, integration, performance tuning, rollout, support and optimization of customer's implementation of Pentaho products
• Mentors customer's staff members in the use of Pentaho technologies and best practices
• Coordinates delivery of any onsite consulting / training services that customer has purchased
• Develops sample applications demonstrating the use of Pentaho product's advanced functionality and APIs
• Identifies best practices and develops content for training courses and the Pentaho knowledge base
• Participates in the onboarding and mentoring of other consultants
• Extends Hitachi Vantara software to adapt to customer environment via plugins, extension points and custom java implementation.
• Follows the delivery methodology and engagement plan as outlined in the SOW
• Implements standards and best practices for each deliverable as applicable
• Raises issues, risks and SOW change items immediately to PM or Engagement manager
• Completes Project Summary document; conduct review with Engagement manager
• Positions add-on services to stakeholders on current assignments
• Improves and/or acquire a new skill and skill level in each quarter.

Qualifications:

• 7-10 years experience working with business intelligence and data integration tools and development processes such as dimensional modeling
• 5-7 years experience working with web and database application development tools, standards and languages including SQL, MDX, XML, Java, JSP, web services, Javascript and HTML/XSLT
• 5-7 years experience working with core infrastructure technologies such as operating systems (Linux, Windows, Solaris), application servers (e.g. Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere, Weblogic), relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MySQL), analytical databases (e.g. Redshift, Vertica), security architectures (CAS, Spring Security, LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory) and networking (HTTP/SSL/load balancing)
• 5-7 years experience working with business intelligence platforms (e.g. Tableau, SAS, Qlik, GIS: Google Maps, HERE, TomTom, ESRI)
• 5-7 years experience working with data integration platforms (e.g. Informatica, DataStage, Ab Initio, Pentaho)
• 5-7 years experience working with Hadoop (e.g. Cloudera, Hortonworks, others)
• 3-5 years experience performing architect-level design for large scale end-user implementations
• 3-5 years experience working with NoSQL - other analytic engines (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, Apache Hbase, Storm, Spark)
• 3-5 years experience working with streaming providers (e.g. Kafka, IBM Enterprise Integration Bus, PDI, RabbitMQ)
• 3-5 years experience working with data science (e.g. statistics, machine learning, algorithms, advanced mathematics, data munging/wrangling)
• 3-5 years experience working with data lineage and data governance projects.
• 3-5 years experience working with data visualization (e.g. UI/UX UX Design Schemas)
• 2-3 years experience working with custom development (e.g. C, Perl, Python, R, Java, Groovy, Weka)
• 2-3 years of experience working with with Java software development, enterprise software architectures, and agile methodologies.
• Preference will be given to candidates with SaaS/multi-tenancy, benchmarking and performance tuning expertise
• Education: B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university with a major in business, computer science or MIS required
