Job description
Hitachi Rail Honolulu is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Track Inspector to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City/Honolulu, HI.

Accountabilities:
  • Conduct mandatory track and third rail inspections on the Main Line and Depot in accordance with FTA requirements, track standards and maintenance procedures/instructions
  • Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of track and related infrastructure, equipment performance, work accomplished and other information using a computerised maintenance management system
  • Ensure the maintenance tools and equipment are in good condition
  • Assist the Civil and Track Engineer to analyse the condition of the track assets
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required
  • Perform and carry out duties as instructed/ directed by the Track Supervisor
  • Role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects and operating transit systems
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned


Job requirements
Required Education/Skills:
  • Track Inspection Qualification recognized by either FTA or FRA
  • Knowledge of Track Maintenance and Safety Standards and Instructions
Desired Skills/ Knowledge:
  • At least one year of track repair work
  • Railroad track system construction, maintenance, testing, or inspection techniques
