The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Soda or Sand Blasting Technician / Trades Assistant to join our team based in Forrestdale. In this position, you will play a crucial role assisting Fitters in the remanufacturing of key components across the Hitachi product range. This role will give an experienced Sand Blaster exposure to OEM training, benefits, and an opportunity to build on existing skills.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Soda Blast a range of machine components
  • Pressure wash machine components
  • Overhead Crane operation
  • Forklift operation
  • Assist Tradesmen to disassemble components in line with procedures when required
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy when carrying out final QA inspections and pack units when ready for dispatch
  • Assist in store control including receiving and dispatch of Reman items
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment

As a Soda Blast Technician, you will have a strong safety focus and abide by site safety processes at all times.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Have experience operating a blasting machine
  • Be mechanically minded with a willingness to learn
  • Have the ability to recognise basic product quality deviations/faults
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts and overtime when required
  • Forklift License, dogging ticket and Spray painting experience will be advantageous
