Summary of the position:

This position will serve as the focal point for all maintenance operations within the Michigan City Sullair Facilities. It will require a coordination of efforts with other departments to deliver the highest quality of building, equipment and site maintenance on a timely basis in addition to managing schedules, workflow, personnel and safety to meet Sullair budgets and goals.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors on multiple projects and the maintenance of facilities and equipment to support operations and office staff.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities based on impact to people, quality, velocity, and cost to the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement supporting department on-time delivery, productivity, quality, goals and expectations.
  • Manage costs and budgets for maintenance activities, as well as project installations.
  • Manage departmental 6S of all maintenance areas.
  • Develop, improve and schedule Preventative Maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain and coordinate all records for the department and track spare parts availability.
  • Conduct training, employee development, performance appraisals and recommend improvements for responsible personnel.
  • Manage staff and day-to-day workflows to maintain an efficient department in line with company goals and management expectations.
  • Participate, lead, and utilize root cause analysis on a regular basis.
  • Create standard work for repeated equipment and facility tasks.
  • Select vendors with consideration to their overall value and safety performance.
  • Revise procedures, technical documentation and drawings to record changes to equipment or facility design.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Professional experience:

  • Proven experience in schedules, quality, workflow, safety, managing personnel and equipment within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with operations in a progressive manufacturing shop environment.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems preferred.
  • Some AutoCAD drafting experience preferred.

  • Skilled in problem solving & Root Cause analysis.
