Description

Summary of the position:

Responsible for leading a team of production employees in the manufacturing of our product.  This position is for an outgoing and aggressive individual who can drive operational safety, quality and productivity results in a production environment.  Daily communication within all levels of the organization is a must.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Communicate daily production targets and exceptions with the production employees.
  • Assign team members, schedule equipment, and adjust workflow based on size of work team, equipment availability, and customer priorities.
  • Engage team members and develop best practices within areas of responsibility.
  • Identify gaps in safety, quality and production processes and develop actions to close gaps.
  • Monitor the acquisition and use of materials.
  • Maintain time, payroll, work orders, material, equipment, and other shop records, and submit reports as required.
  • Responsible for management of department safety programs (i.e. conduct tool box meetings, audits and team safety initiatives).
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BA/BS Degree in Operations Management or Equivalent Experience
  • Or 5-10+ years manufacturing leadership experience

Professional experience:

  • 2-5+ years of supervisory/lead experience.
  • Operations experience in manufacturing/fabrication.
  • Proven ability to lead with a sense of urgency to obtain results.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach, and lead both hourly and professional associates.
  • Have a critical eye for improvement in all areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on various projects at the same time.
  • Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  • Proficient with basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, manufacturing data entry, Email communications)
