Databases Administrator (MSSQL)

The Role
We are seeking for Databases Administrator (MSSQL).

To perform activities for projects:

o Clone Databases
o Apply corrective patches
o Define the most accurate setting
o Collaborate with application/database developers, quality assurance and operations/support staff in a fast paced global environment.
o Work within the Application Development team to deliver business critical projects and maintain high service levels
o Provide technical expertise on the installation, setup, configuration of database servers, replication, mirroring

To perform activities related to support:

o Manage issues related to MSSQL databases
o Follow up databases to make sure that they are correctly tuned
o Monitoring and adjusting database size against performance and storage capacity
o Perform database maintenance activities such as backup/recovery, rebuilding and reorganizing indexes.
o Performance tuning and optimization
o Install, upgrade, and apply maintenance and patches as needed
o Monitor and maintain existing database infrastructure
o Provide off-hours/weekend support in case of urgent production support issues.

KEY TECHNICAL and FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

o Handling and managing SQL Server database/replication infrastructure in a real time production environment.
o Failover technologies such as Mirroring, SAN - Replication.
o Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking/deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, data replication issues etc.
o Performance tuning, SQL query development/optimization using performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
o Strong understanding of Transactional SQL
o Database maintenance activities such as backup/recovery - capacity monitoring/management.
o Collaborating with development/qa teams on physical database design activities and performance tuning.
o Managing and making software deployments/changes in real time production environments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
o Bachelor degree in Computer Science or any IT related course
o Minimum of 3 years working experience in MSSQL
o Strong problem solving and risks assessment skills.
o Good interpersonal skills, able to resolve conflicts.
o Must be a team player with responsibilities.
o Good command of spoken and written English.
o Ability to work on multiple projects at one time with minimal supervision and ensure high quality, timely delivery.
