Hitachi Europe S.A. is searching for an Engineering Technician to join the Particle Therapy Systems Division for its Proton Beam Therapy (PBT*) project at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Madrid.
The Engineering Technician will support final phase of commissioning of PBT system under the direction of Site Manager. He/she will be assigned to provide service and maintenance of the PBT system as a part of Hitachi team stationed at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.
The Technician must work in compliance with all laws and both external and internal regulations such as worker safety, radiation protection, technical and mechanical procedures, and facility protocols. The position requires electrical/mechanical knowledge and relevant work experience. The qualified worker in electrical work (trabajador cualificado en los trabajos eléctricos) is highly preferred.
Holding the CSN’s license of industrial radiography, radiotherapy or similar field is a plus.
(*) The PBT System is the advanced radiotherapy system composed of a particle accelerator, rotating gantry and its control systems etc.
Monitor operation of the PBT system and take actions to improve its performance
Work in compliance with all regulatory standards including, but not limited to; applicable laws, CSN related radiation safety regulations and internal policies of both Hitachi and the Clínica Universidad de Navarra
Adopt new technology, products and processes in daily operations
Respond to calls for service support promptly and communicate with the customer to ensure their satisfaction
Manage work schedule as well as spare parts usage to maximize effectiveness and minimize costs
Fulfill work orders and business procedures including submission of working reports, timecard, expense report, etc.
University degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.)
3+ years of experience in maintenance of industrial plants, medical devices or nuclear power equipment
Quality Assurance/Quality Control of electrical engineering
Proven skill in reading and correctly interpreting various engineering documents (schematics, wiring, diagrams, piping diagrams, etc.)
Working knowledge of electronic test and measurement instruments (DVM, oscilloscope, micrometers, etc.)
Certificate of qualified worker in electrical work (trabajador cualificado en los trabajos eléctricos) or similar.
License issued by CSN (Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear) and/or certificate of Supervisor of Radioactive installation in the field of Radiotherapy (Supervisor de Instalaciones Radiactivas en el campo específico de Radioterapia) or similar
Capable of working independently as well as a part of cross-functional team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Flexibility in working hours and shift patterns
Familiarity with working in area of high-voltage, radiation and electromagnetic
Ability to work at 10+ meters height and to lift up to 32kg repeatedly and safely
Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and latest PC technology
Proficiency in English and Spanish
