Hitachi America, Ltd. is looking for an experienced Integrated Brand Manager to lead Hitachi’s digital-centric advertising campaign media buying, the organization of corporate-sponsored and corporate-organized events and strengthen internal branding initiatives for Hitachi in North America (predominantly in the US). This includes, but is not limited to, communicating and coordinating with Hitachi’s media buying agency on digital campaign management, providing direction on content & creative development, and contract negotiations; working with the senior manager on corporate events and sponsorship activation & messaging (tradeshow, industry-specific events, and company organized); and carrying out internal brand initiatives such as internal awards programs and employee training programs under the activities supported by the corporate policies and initiatives set forth by Hitachi, Ltd.’s Global Corporate Brand and Communications Division (GCBCD) in Japan.

The digital-centric media-buying role includes the management and allocation of budget across media platforms by working with the agency, and the management of Native Advertising – where content supervision and coordinating with subject matter experts at Hitachi Group companies is critical.

For events, the role involves day-to-day coordination with the senior manager to organize and execute event logistics and messaging. The internal branding aspect of the role involves management of Hitachi’s internal branding initiatives such as our annual internal awards program and annual employee brand training which is designed to educate employees about Hitachi’s Mission, Values, and Vision.

The Integrated Brand Manager will also be required to facilitate and align Hitachi’s content and brand messaging throughout the advertising, event, and branding roles across multiple marketing channels simultaneously. For example, utilizing content generated from events for online advertising, and other related platforms.

The Integrated Brand Manager will also be responsible for active communication and correspondence with GCBCD in Hitachi, Ltd.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage and execute digital-centric campaign media-buy planning in North America to include promotion of thought leadership content, events, and case studies on the Social Innovation Business (SIB) website (
  • Provide all necessary reporting in comparison to established KPIs, and substantiation relating to investments made within the campaign budget.
  • Oversee editorial content related to Native Advertising, working as a liaison between media content creators (editorial teams) and Hitachi Group companies, to ensure accuracy of information and compliance with company disclosure policies.
  • Review advertising competitive reporting prepared by Hitachi’s media-buying agency and keep current of the latest digital media and branding best practices in the U.S. market.
  • Support internal branding initiatives to include the annual Inspiration of the Year Awards (IYGA) promotion & ceremony, “I am Hitachi” movie production, employee brand trainings, and annual brand & communication meeting.
  • Lead and coordinate event logistics, messaging and reporting for 5-7 events per fiscal year.
  • Budget management of activities supported by the corporate policies and initiatives set forth by Hitachi, Ltd.’s GCBCD in Japan.
  • Implement the usage of Brand assets and ensure correct branding, among the Hitachi Group companies online and at events.
  • Serve as a liaison with Hitachi, Ltd.’s GCBCD and Hitachi Group companies in relation to corporate advertising, event & branding initiatives.
  • Serve as an advisor to Hitachi Group companies on any brand-related issues.
  • Supports senior manager and director on all new initiatives relating to investments in new approaches to advertising, events and branding.

Role Qualifications:

  • B.A. in Branding/Advertising/Marketing or related field is required.
  • 8-12 years demonstrated work experience in advertising, brand, and/or marketing, as well as an understanding of managing a major media-buying agency, and experience in working on events/symposia is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills are required, as well as ability to present detailed plans in large team meetings.
  • Working knowledge of the full MS Office Suite and Social Media platforms is required.
  • Ability to develop corporate advertising strategic plans and objectives along with working with multiple constituencies – both internal (Hitachi Group companies) and external (media companies, event management companies.)
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects under pressure and meet assigned deadlines as required with exceptional attention to detail. This customer-focused manager role will require thoughtful and creative solutions that fully leverages Hitachi’s Brand Investment budget and maximizes its impact.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10-20% of the time.
