Description

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise to test, repair, upgrade and support JR Automation equipment at a customer location in South Bend, Indiana.  This is a one-year contract position, with the possibility of permanent employment at the end of one year. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Utilize your familiarity with assembly of equipment (Converting systems, fluid dispense systems, and vision guided robotics assembly systems) per mechanical drawings
  • Carry out assigned tasks with minimum direct supervision
  • Execute ISO\Quality standards
  • Communicate with the Machine Builders and engineers on open issues 
  • Assist maintenance and production team leaders in maintaining and coordinating operational and maintenance task lists, machine safety and quality 
  • Follow up action items thru completion
  • Validate process changes and documentation
  • Working Knowledge of Six Sigma to provide tools to improve the capability of business processes, increase in performance and decrease in process variation that will lead to defect reduction and improvement in quality of products and thruput

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering degree or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 5 years of Automation experience(PLC, Robotics, servo motion controls, vision systems, manufacturing network and SCADA systems) 
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff and Siemens PLC and web handling
  • Ability to troubleshoot automation equipment and process under complex situations 
  • Knowledge of Fluid Power process and mechanical background 
  • Experience in conversion

Skills You’ll Have: 

  • Working Knowledge of MS office 
  • Proficient in reading part and assembly drawings
  • Proven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality
  • Ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned while working as part of ateam or individually

Other Details: 

  • Physical demands: bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and climbing on to and beneath machines. 
  • Work schedule: on-site 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday
  • Evening, weekend and holiday work maybe required.
  • On Call to support 24 x 7 operations
