Description

As a Controls Engineering Manager you will lead a team of Controls Engineers who work as members of internal project teams. You’ll work alongside our Applications, Mechanical, and Build teams to design, build, program, and deploy custom automated equipment and solutions for a variety of applications, processes, and industries!

What You’ll Do:

  • Direct supervision of Controls Engineering staff.  
  • Developing standards and learning paths for department leadership.  
  • Annual performance reviews.  
  • Assist with the successful management of engineering programs as they relate to cost, quality, safety, timing and customer satisfaction
  • Assist with the successful management of engineering programs as they relate to cost, quality, safety, timing and customer satisfaction
  • Develop the Controls department through leadership, mentoring, and training of controls engineers, and other staff
  • Manage staffing and workload issues, including managing direct, indirect and overtime hours as they relate to workload, budget and timing
  • Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automated equipment
  • Conduct the electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the appropriate build, power and design teams
  • Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or JR Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related business or engineering field.  
  • 5+ years of industry experience leading successful highly motivated teams.  
  • Expert in all Applications Engineering processes and tools.

Other Details:

  • Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment; up to 25% travel expected yearly.
